Cape Clear Island (Oileán Chléire)

Most Fastnet boat tours include a 2- to 3-hour stopover on Ireland's southernmost inhabited island.

Cape Clear spans 5.2 km and has a population of around 110 people. It is an official Gaeltacht area, so you will hear Irish spoken by the local community.

Since visitor cars are not allowed, you must explore on foot or use the local electric bus. Walk the cliffside trails and visit historical sites near the harbor before your ferry departs.
